Riding Tips
Important
Riding Piperider requires balance and falls can occur. It is advised to wear wrist guards when riding.
Riders need to ensure that feet are placed wide apart on the foot grip areas, at either end of the balance board. Feet must remain firmly in these positions. It is important not to move your feet or attempt any tricks until you have attained good initial balance and riding competency on the Piperider™ board. Initial riding competency is usually attained after 5-15mins riding time.

Tricks
Many tricks can be achieved with the Piperider™ balance board. Tricks are limited only by your skill and imagination.
NB. These manoeuvres and tricks can render Piperider unstable, unsafe, are dangerous and can cause serious falls. When learning new and performing difficult tricks wrist guards are advised to be worn.
We would love to hear from you and see your trick pics. Drop us a note and we will try to post them on the Piperider™ website.
Tube Riding
You are looking to get the board as close as you can to parallel to the pipe, on the pipe and maintain balance. Rotate your shoulders quickly, your legs and the Piperider board will follow. Crouch with thighs parallel to the ground and get the pipe moving in short back and forward motions.

180 and 360 Flat Spins

The flat spin is achieved doing a small jump to take a little weight off the board followed by a quick rotating flick of the shoulders. This will initially achieve a 90 degree spin where you are balanced along the length of the pipe (tube ride). Another flick rotation of the shoulders should see you complete a 180 spin. Repeat the first steps to achieve the full 360.

The Ollie

An Ollie looks easy but it is actually very hard to do and takes a lot of practice. To do an ollie stamp down on the back of the Piperider™ board and slide the other foot up the middle while jumping up into the air. It looks as if the board is glued to the rider's feet as it jumps into the air.

The Cross Step

This is also a very difficult trick to master as it entails lifting one foot off the board and balancing on one leg.

To emulate the classic look of a long board surfer, you can practice this on any of the Piperider boards. It is achieving balance on one leg that you are looking for while stepping through and back with the other one.
